Cristian Raduta, born 1982, studied at the National University of Art in Bucharest and achieved his master degree 2007. Since 2005 he has held the post of teaching assistant at the above university.
Although very young he had several exhibitions. Among them: 2002 personal sculpture exhibition "Insectar" at the Art University Gallery in Bucharest. 2006 "Transmissionen" at the Kunstacademy, Stuttgart. 2007 "Remelt" Portugese Art Academy, Rome. 2007 "Spazi aperti" Romanian Academy, Rome. 2008 Carnival Exhibition, Italian Pavilion of the Biennale, Venice.
Raduta participated in 2005 at the Summer Academy in Salzburg. 2006-2008 he held the scholarship "Vasile Pirvan" and spent 2 years at the Romanian Academy in Rome. Some of his works are in the collection of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.
He likes on one hand to analyze the process of metamorphosis, of first well-defined forms into new esthetical dimensions. On the other hand Raduta studies the meaning of usual objects, finding special balance of forces, new perspectives of interaction that transform common issues. It might look like playing games, but the game is mature with much depth. The materials he uses are mostly, glass fiber, plaster, special tissues.
