A rare exhibition combining mixed media sculpture, fine craft, paintings and drawings by fellow artists Don de Vivieros and Hugh Wiley opens at Quicksilver on July 10th.
Wiley and de Vivieros, who both taught at the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, also lived as neighbors in Willits for many years. This Exhibition brings them together once again, each man’s individual work transforming their art experience from Vision to Form.
Hugh Wiley, born in Indiana in 1922 and now living in Willits, has been an artist, sculptor, and teacher his entire lifetime. His current work centers around concrete relief sculpture on wall panels, as well as paintings, drawings and other mixed-media three-dimensional works.
